Trick and Fancy Rider

Cheridyn Bateman, an 18-year-old Trick and Fancy Rider from Silver City, Oklahoma, has been captivating audiences with her talent and passion for rodeo entertainment. Her journey began at the age of 9, inspired by Dusti Crain-Dickerson’s mesmerizing performance at a rodeo in Pawnee, Oklahoma. That moment ignited her dream of becoming a rodeo entertainer, and she has been pursuing it ever since.

Cheridyn honed her skills by attending the renowned Red Top Ranch Trick Riding School and training with several accomplished trick riders. Over the past seven years, she has not only developed exceptional horsemanship but also built lifelong connections within the rodeo industry.

Her first public performance was at the age of 11 at the Original Pawnee Bill Wild West Show, held annually at the historic Pawnee Bill Ranch in Pawnee, Oklahoma. There, she was honored to perform alongside her mentor and friend, Windy Ratchford-Lattin. Just a year after beginning her training, she competed in the 2018 North American Trick Riding Championships, earning 4th place in the world in the youth division against competitors from across the U.S. and Canada.

In 2021, Cheridyn achieved a major milestone when she was crowned the 3 C Arena Trick Riding Champion in Illinois, winning both the youth division and the overall highpoint title at an event hosted by Dusti Crain-Dickerson.

Since then, Cheridyn has performed at rodeos across the country, including:

  • 2022 Hooey Junior Patriot Rodeo in Fort Worth, Texas.
  • 2022 Clay County Pioneer Reunion Rodeo in Henrietta, Texas.
  • 2023 UPRA Rodeo in Brownwood, Texas.

In June 2023, she advanced to the professional ranks, earning her PRCA permit.

Equine Partners

Cheridyn’s performances are brought to life with her trusted team of white horses:

  • Hollywood, a 17-year-old mare she purchased from Bethany Iles in 2018.
  • Legend, a 7-year-old gelding she trained herself.
  • Ammo, a 5-year-old gelding also trained by Cheridyn.

Life Outside Rodeo

Cheridyn embodies the western way of life in all aspects. She is currently training to become a riding instructor at the Right Path Riding Academy, a therapeutic program for children with special needs. She also teaches western riding lessons to children, is active in her church as a member of the Praise Team, and enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.

With her passion, dedication, and remarkable talent, Cheridyn Bateman is not only a rising star in the rodeo world but also an inspiring role model for others.

Meet TC Long, Pro Rodeo Announcer

T.C. Long was born and raised in the small West Texas town of Andrews. The sport of rodeo was always a part of T.C’s youth, being that his father was both a calf roper and a team roper. T.C. began participating in rodeos at the age of 5, and he attended rodeos throughout Texas and New Mexico.

T.C. discovered his true calling at the age of 14 when he was asked by family friend to announce the activities during a small, local playday. He picked up the microphone which is where he began learning the behind the scenes work that is necessary in producing events. He began to expand his repertoire to include junior rodeos in the states of Texas and New Mexico. It didn’t take long before rodeo producers discovered his talents. In 2001, fresh out of high school, a stock contractor that T.C. had worked with during several junior rodeos took a chance and asked T.C. to announce the largest open rodeo produced by his company, and that is all it took to introduce T.C.’s voice to the world of rodeo. In December 2002, he was approached by Booger Barter Productions, the nation’s 2nd largest team roping production company, to become a full-time employee and announce all of their team roping competitions. He then moved to Athens, Texas.

T.C. was accepted into the PRCA as a Pro Rodeo Announcer in October 2005 at the young age of 22.

We are honored to take 3rd place in the Texas ProRodeo Circuit for Committee of the Year in the medium size rodeo category. Several of our awesome committee members made the trip to Waco for the awards luncheon and to enjoy the Waco rodeo.

We can't wait to see what the future brings!
