History
The first few years the production was staged at Floore’s Country Store. It moved to Helotes Elementary School then to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. As it grew and as scholarships were added to the winner’s packages, larger areas were needed to stage the event. The pageant moved to John Marshall High School, Taft High School, the University of Texas at San Antonio, and finally to its present home at O’Connor High School.
Pageant & Prizes
Several dedicated local volunteers have worked hard to bring this Pageant to the point that participation is a coveted life experience for young ladies from 9th grade through 11th grade. The addition of scholarships and other prize packages have added to its success. The Pageant is known for having an elegant, professional presentation and outshines many other local pageants. This experience has been the catalyst for many accomplished young ladies who are successful in their lives and careers. The current Miss Helotes and court received a prize and gift package worth $11,000.00. Miss Helotes 2020 will receive the official crown, 14-Karat white gold, diamond, ring from Rialto Jewelry in addition to a scholarship.
Date
Outstanding young Helotes girls compete for the coveted title of Miss Helotes. This will be the 54th anniversary of the pageant. Returning to crown their successors were reigning Miss Helotes Alyssa Owens, Princess Emma Grace Dennis, Duchess Jenna Perez, Miss Congeniality Lillian Stagner, Miss Citizenship Victoria Baker, Miss Spirit Sophia Castellano.
